Dear Bloggie friends - this is a crisis ! Help I'm having second thoughts about getting the hens !! Feeling strangely weepy about it.
Will the cats & dogs be OK ?
Will they ruin my garden ?
Will they wonder off ?
I'll have a hen house & a run but the idea is they free roam the garden. We are semi detached. My neighbours are OK about it but now I'm not so sure...... xx

ReplyDeleteWe're in a suburban semi and it can be 'too close' for comfort sometimes but our chickens make much less noise than a barking dog does (we have one of those too). One can't live ones life for others all the time, it's your home and your family. If there's a problem you can deal with it at the time it comes around. As for the garden, ours haven't ruined it at all, they just poo EVERYWHERE! I may even pen them off next season. I couldn't imagine life without my girls now, I love them.
Don't worry if you change your mind, it's allowed! ;)
Have you any friends with chickens that would 'loan' you them for a week to see how you feel after a trial run?

Thanks Lucy. Family conference had & I shall go ahead. I'm going to make a pen & let them in & out as & when I want. If I'd had them by now it'd be too late & I'd just get on with it !
