HAPPY
SIXTEENTH

WEE MAN
SIXTEENTH
BIRTHDAY
WEE MAN
!!!
You are a lovely young man.
Taller than Dad now
( and more hair ! )
I guess we start calling you
BIG MAN
!!!
Sixteen years ago at eight in the morning,
hubby & I dropped Jess of at my good friend's
and drove to Poole hospital.
I was all prepared for Bournemouth
and a birthing pool
but as the baby was two weeks late,
I had to go to Poole for some reason.
I had a chest infection
so wasn't allowed drugs !
I had gas and air tho and needed it-
Joe was nearly ten pounds !!!
A long skinny baby.
Joe arrived at twenty four minutes past five
& when the midwife asked hubby to tell me
if it was a boy or girl,
he spoke with great emotion,
" It's Joe "
Hubby drove the forty minutes home to collect Jess.
On the way back to the hospital
they bought some flowers & chocolates from a petrol station.
The flowers soon wilted
& Jess totally ignored her little brother
and ate all the chocs !
Hubby took her back home that night
& I had left a little cradle with a new doll in it.
Jess flung the doll out
saying
" Get rid of that "
and put her little pink rabbit " Auf " in the cradle.
Jess never was a doll person
but when he came home,
she adored her little brother.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
JOE

There's a "chip off the old block" in terms of physical appearance, if ever I saw one.
ReplyDeleteI can finally comment now using Explorer! Wey hey! Happy birthday to the birthday boy.
Spoke too soon, hit "publish" and my screen went white. Have had to come over to Chrome to see whether my comment made it over to you. This only seems to be happening on a few of the blogs I follow, don't quite "get" why.... I am changing to Chrome permanently now.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Joe! Enjoy your youth.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to Joe! His birth story sounds familiar to my second one - 12yo had stayed with neighbours while I was in labour, and when she came home (I had a home-birth), she was so tired from not having had a nap that day that she wasn't the slightest interested in her little baby brother - in fact, she burst out crying when we showed him to her. But I have a photo of them a few weeks later where he's in the bouncy chair and she's reading him a story. Now of course, he is her annoying little brother who you can boss around, and he adores her.
ReplyDeleteVery Happy Birthday wishes to Joe, I hope he has a wonderful day. Great photos, isn't he like his dad?!
