Oh Billy
you are awful ...
but
I love you !

Time to look at Friday gratefuls again.
Not grateful for a flare up of Fibryomyalgia
due to lack of sleep
or
a trip to the doctor to discuss my X Ray
to be told I have a touch of arthritis in my neck.

I am grateful for Paracetamol, Ibuprofen
warm baths, heating, rest & a cuddly warm cat to curl up with !

Frankie isn't cuddly like Billy
but very soft to stroke.

Looking forward to a deep tissue massage booked for next week.

I am grateful for my supportive family.
I live in a beautiful place so I can get out and walk for exercise.
Jess or Joe can walk Dillon when I'm too tired.

Thank goodness for deliveries...
Dvd's & XBox games from Amazon for Joe's birthday.

We had a lovely  birthday meal together at home
& chocolate cake made by Jess !

I am grateful for the wonderful village I live in -
the Panto was such fun !
Snow White and the seven...???
The seven turned out to be based on the Dad's army characters
and very good they were too  !

My friend, the manageress of the charity shop
was brilliant as the wicked Queen
and Mary from the Co-op ( formerly the Dairy )
so Mary from the Dairy
was superb as the mirror.
Mary Kate from the fishmongers / fish restaurant
a fetching Snow White
with a beautiful singing voice.

Thanks to the woman who filled in for me as usherette on Friday night at very short notice
as I was so tired....
I'm very grateful.
I managed to do the Sunday Matinee.

Also grateful to new Volunteer Ewan who did my stint at the shop on Tuesday
at very short notice.

Looking forward to having a meal at a friend's house tonight
and Haggis supper at home tomorrow.
We are not hosting a Burns' night this year
but hubby wanted Haggis...
just got to get him to eat his " Neeps " as well !!!

Hope you have a good weekend.

  1. Thanks ever so for your comments. I do truly believe that everything happens for a reason. I think in this case it was that you can't solve everything sometimes you have to walk away no matter how bad it makes you feel. Happy birthday to your wee big boy. It has been a good food week for us to, the half of my husband that isn't Chinese is Scottish do we too partook of haggis and f
fatties. The neepes did get replaced with mashed carrot and parsnip (the little one was too poorly for me to get out, needless to say my dh was not heartbroken by the substitute...........). Sorry to read about the flare ups hope the deep massage helps. I love ibuprofen it is my friend........ Have a good week

  4. Hope your fibromyalgia and neck pain ease up soon - it is very wearing to have constant pain. And we need you fully fit so we can organise the trip to the Cemetery! Your panto sounds brilliant! Take care and hope you get spoilt!

  5. Hope your aches and pains respond to the deep tissue massage...that sounds wonderful!
Never tried haggis and am wondering if your swedes are our turnips? Being from the North I get confused..to us turnip is yellow and swede is white..the wonders of language.
    The panto sounds good.
Hope you have a restful and pain free weekend. I'm hoping for a steroid injection at the arthritis clinic today so I can have the same.
    Hugs xx

  7. Hope the deep massage helps and hurray for painkillers when nothing else will do! The panto sounds great and I'm glad you managed to get people to fill in for you when you needed it to give your body time to rest.

Sending you hugs and sparkles for the weekend

  8. Ugh, arthritis in your neck is bad news. I hope the massage helps the discomfort. The panto sounds like great fun - I'm glad you were able to get to see it (oh no you didn't!!).

I hope you enjoy your meal out tonight, it's always a treat to be cooked for.

    Billy is just TOO gorgeous!!

  9. Grandma Smith always used to wear a fox fur stole, perhaps we should revive them, the warmth may ease your poor neck. Burns night is a great excuse to hit the whisky, that tends to cure all ills if taken by the jug full.

The panto sounded great fun. Have a good weekend Penny, take care and get someone else to walk Dillon for a change. xxxxx & Hugs

  11. I hope you start feeling smooth and easy real soon! Sounds like you have the right attitude for improvement, and two very handsome, albeit it, furry companions to help you. So people really eat Haggis, I thought it was just a funny thing they liked to bring up in movies?! Hope yours was good!
