A quiet week which involved
catching up with paper work & phone calls
getting my hair cut
going to Southampton
& unpacking loads of boxes and bags at the charity shop.

I'm not feeling too great-
very tired & aching all over.
Not sleeping well & have now got black bags under my eyes.
When I don't sleep I ache.
I get up at fourish,
let the cats in, get a drink
& try to get back to sleep.
When Roddy & Joe get up
I'm groggy...
I need a holiday to
get over my holiday !!!

I had a lot of energy before
and
WANT IT BACK !!!

The shop was mad.
Everyone seems to be moving house
& donating lots of  stuff
so lots to sort through
which can be tiring.

Still, we are grateful for the donations
and it's good for people to feel  their unwanted items
may have further use or be recycled.
We get money for bags of unusable clothing
which we name our " Specials "

I've had a lovely girl come to cut my hair at home twice now.
This week she did mine Jess & Joe's.
Hubby is keeping his hair longer as it's sun bleached
& he likes the salty sea dog look
he has perfected over the years !

( I nag him about sun cream,
think he needs to use a moisturiser & hair conditioner
but it's one shower gel for all for him )

I've been helping Jess get her CV together.
We went shopping to get Joe some clothes for his trip to New York in February
Board shorts to long johns -
sun cream to chap sticks  in a short space of time !
Joe can't wait to go
but is looking forward to his sixteenth birthday on Tuesday.
He has asked to have the day off school !
No Joe No.

This weekend our village is holding it's second Pantomime.
I'm selling ice creams during the interval.
Last year I dressed up as a Victorian maid
but none of the other Usherettes dressed up!

Last year's Panto really was very good
so I'm looking forward to this one.

Hope you've had a good week
and have a great weekend !

Visit
here

to catch up with other Friday Rockers !

  1. So sorry to hear that the aches and pains are back Penny, and that your sleep is so disturbed. A 4am start is no joke is it. Take care of yourself Cuz. I bet your hair looks lovely. I really need to have mine cut I am starting to look like a yeti.

  2. Ouch at the 4am waking – no wonder you don’t have any energy :(

But the panto sounds like fun – and your son must be super excited about going to New York, lucky young man!

  4. I hear you on the lack of sleep, my toddler woke me up coughing, I got up at 3.18 to get him tixlicks and a drink then ended up lying down next to him. Got back into my bed at 5 decided once husband got up at 6 i should give up then fell into deep sleep before being yelled awake by said toddler at 7.45 (very reasonable really!). Today is a bleary day...... I guess a lot of people are sorting out for the new year, trying to find homes for their Christmas things, good news for your shop though :) hope you get some kip and the aches and pains sort themselves out........

  6. Oh sweetie I'm sorry your feeling achy - but I so understand the need for a holiday to get over the holiday - I feel like that every time we have a break! Glad the charity shop is busy and you're getting lots of donations post Christmas. I bet you looked great all dressed up for the interval last year, I hope the pantomime is just as much fun this year! Will send you some positive vibes for some good sleep so you start to regain your energy.

    Hugs

  7. I'm disappointed you're not dressing up for the panto this year ;o) Great news that the charity shop has been busy, although I know you've got very little sorting space. I bet you're getting fast at sorting the bags!

You will get your energy back, I'm quite sure of it. Part of your heart is probably still in Antigua, sitting in the sunshine sipping cocktails. Once it's back you'll be fine.

    Have a lovely weekend, Chuck.

  9. Oh yes, can understand that knackered feeling after a holiday. You need a week to just chill and slob about in your jammies.

The pantomime sounds fun. I think you should rebel and dress up anyway!

    Have a lovely week :)

p.s I think it's a man thing - my Craig is the same. You should hear the long suffering sighs when I drop a shampoo, a conditioner, a shower gel AND a hand soap into the trolley. It's not like I even buy the expensive stuff! We get most of it in Aldi's for goodness sake *g*

  10. Happy Birthday to your son! We have January birthdays here too! My youngest will be 10 on Sunday and I'm coming up on the 26th. Unfortunately, over the years I have noticed I am often sick during January and have the "aches" as you described. Hope yours resolve real soon!!
