Our daughter was born in Spain where we lived and worked for several years. She gets her GCSE results today and will go to the local college to study A levels. At 18 she'd like to study & work in Spain for a year.

She was born just after midnight on 10th December 1992. The consultant, a handsome, glamorous Spaniard arrived having walked to the hospital and told us, " There is a beautiful eclipse of the moon "

I have always thought this was so special.

Yesterday we heard the sad news that this doctor had been killed in an accident. Tragically his brother, also a doctor, had lost his son - killed in the recent bombing - he was one of the Guardia Civil. Our thoughts are with the family

I am not particularly religious. If anything my religion is Mother earth, nature and the elements. I have been learning T'ai Chi for three years have a feeling of well being during the class and afterwards.
I went on a T'ai Chi retreat to a wonderful place in Devon and just before we left my teacher and I picked a few sloes. It was lovely out there in the sunshine in beautiful countryside feeling calm, relaxed and " at one with nature "

I made sloe gin from the Springhead sloes but it hasn't been sampled yet !

  1. How sad about the Doctor. It's awful news. I too have that feeling of a deep connection with nature and Mother Earth, I am not a particularily religious person in the usual sense, but I am very spiritual and feel there is so much hidden which we do not know of. Hey! I would love to try that sloe gin! Thats spirit! Suzie :)

  3. What a lovely story about the ecipse and what sad news about the doctor and his brothers son :(

Yup, I'm another that sits easier with mother earth. The Pagans had it all figured out so long ago. Thankfully many are re-discovering some of those lost views and practices. It so much nicer to live by the seasons.

    Enjoy your gin!

    :) xx

  5. As an atheist, I believe in ethics and compassion... and both of those are REALLY hard to deal with.

Well in that case, send it 'ere! I'll have gin and tonic anytime!!!
