more natter

I am loving Yoga !

I DO YOGA !!!

I may join a second class on a different day, both classes relaxed.

I also joined the village choir but suffering from repeated cold viruses so may not continue.

I'm in the process of  booking an Airbnb place for my mum and me to stay near Hastings in April.
I've had to explain how it works to mum, that we do our own catering. The one I've reserved is a ground floor apartment in a Regency house right on the seafront. We can visit family and have more space than in a hotel. Some of the hotels look rundown but our apartment looks gorgeous.

The other thing I've done is I've stopped biting my nails !!! I was 55 last  week and decided I need pretty nails like my friends. I was out with a few friends enjoying the thousands of snowdrops at Kingston Lacey talking about Lent and an interesting piece I'd heard on the radio. It was all about giving instead of using lent to give up something;  like giving your time to someone. My friends said that I do this anyway which was nice to know they think of me like that.

I have horrible bitten nails and looking at the pretty coloured nails of one friend I decided to try to stop, so far so good !

The snowdrops were spectacular, over forty varieties. We used a mirror to look underneath the delicate drooping flower heads to find all different centres, some double flowers, some yellow inside and some completely white, so pretty.

We took a tour of the stunning house and though the furniture and ornaments were under winter covers we had a good look at the paintings and beautiful painted ceilings.

Husband and I had a night away to use our vineyard tour and wine tasting voucher we'd had as a wedding anniversary present. We went on my birthday. The vineyard was near Henley on Thames, a lovely area but bitterly cold that day. We really enjoyed the tour tasting several white wines, one red, some beers from their brewery and some liqueurs which were great for our coughs ! We stayed on site and though the house was lovely were rather disappointed we couldn't have the log fire lit due to health and safety as no manager in the building at night. We ate there but all the other guests took taxis out to a pub so we felt a bit Billy no mates ! The next day had a walk down the river at Marlow before coming home. As we were away mid week, husband kept getting work related calls which was a nuisance but couldn't be avoided. It was nice to get away.

Jess is in New Zealand now having had a fantastic time in Asia. She is heading to Wellington where she hopes to find work. She's thinking of doing some conservation work at some stage and definitely going back to Vietnam where she wants me to join her.

I am off to walk Dillon now, hope you had a good weekend xx

  3. Lots of happy happenings in your post.
You certainly made the most of your time away by the sounds of it.
AirBnB is such a good idea. We've had a couple of really nice stays away thanks to them.
Kingston Lacey is lovely, just the kind of place where you can imagine those weekend parties people sued to have.
