No offence intended

I'm feeling brighter since my last post due to a good dose of laughter.

The first was yesterday during my stint at the Charity shop.  I uttered, " Fxxxxxg Hell "  about something thinking the shop was empty of customers... then a man appeared from the second room. I apologised and said how unprofessional of me though I couldn't be sacked as I am a volunteer. The man said that it was OK, we all have to let off steam, say three Hail Marys and I am forgiven. I said that I wasn't a Cathloic so that wouldn't work. The new managed said, " you're sacked " and we all laughed. It could have gone badly if I had offended a customer.

Today at T'ai Chi we were talking about Religion before class started. I said the Pastor of the Methodist Church had once called at our house and I informed him he had visited the wrong house as husband and kids are Athiests. The Pastor said, " what do you believe in ? "  I spread my arms out wide and answered, " Mother Earth "

Well I was telling this story at T'ai Chi and mentioned that I'd seen a group of  Jehovas'  Witnesses up the road last week and was glad that I was out for their call; they actually looked intimidating in a large group.  A  really lovely lady in her eighties in our class said, " I have the best reply when they call. I say that I don't think my Rabbi would be happy about me talking to them ! "

Laughter is the best medicine and I do hope that I haven't offended anyone, as it was not my intention to offend.

  1. I ought to try that one as they have called at our house quite a lot in the past. I usually say that my religious beliefs are my own personal business and I don't want to discuss them on my doorstep.

  10. Well, it's all a good laugh! I really wonder if God is going to group us by Methodist, Lutheran, Catholic, etc... As for Jehova Witnesses, I just tell them my beliefs are in a Triune God, and they leave! I say God Bless You too. Our actions speak volumes for our witness.
    Blessings!
