I can't see !
Having put the Christmas decorations away
and the lounge not long ago repainted,
I decided I didn't want to put the picture I've had since 18
back on the mantle piece...
I really wanted a mirror.
The lounge is a dark cold room with French windows.
I thought a mirror would give us more light.
The mantle piece is quite high.
Jess & I saw this mirror in the sale last week
but didn't buy it then.
I went home & measured up
then decided yes
and ordered one.
I love it and it does the trick for lighting
but as a mirror
to see ourselves in ?
As you see - I can only see me from my forehead up !
The others are OK as all taller than me.
I have to jump up & down !
Before we put it up it was leaning by the fireplace.
Dillon suddenly spotted the "other" dog-
I don't think he has ever seen himself before !
He wagged his tail, then screwed his nose up,
looked behind it, then went to the front door most confused.
The tea lights holders were 50p for six in the charity shop
with tea lights included
and the pretty candlesticks a present.
A winter wonderland during the day
& twinkly at night.
How wonderful! I'd have to jump up and down too!!

Just the sort of mirror that I like, one where you can only see the top of my head. Still you managed some exercise too, jumping up and down. Love the tea light holders. I too have kept some back. I might not be able to have a log burning stove but I can have some lovely candlelight on these dark winter nights.

ReplyDeleteLove the mirror and votives. We had a similar episode to Dillon with George last night - we had not closed the curtains to the french window in the lounge. George was asleep on the sofa opposite (where he shouldn't have been), he woke up and started growling at the dog in the window.

Wow, thats one ace mirror. The only mirror I can see in in this house, and there are many, is the full length one in the hall, I usually scream - and go and change. So perhaps its a good idea to have one like that.

Very nice. I like the mirror. I am also the shortest in the family, so if I am ever in your neighbourhood we could both jump up and down to see ourselves in the mirror!!! :)

ReplyDeleteSilly Dillon! It reminds me of when we put some full length mirrors in the garden, tucked in the ivy. Rosie Mae kept an eye on that 'dog in the mirror', trying growling, wagging and barking. Having said that, I caught my brother trying to peer into next door (not realising it was a mirror until his face surprised him!!).
